A highly contagious virus has spread across the world, thousands of people are dying, lakhs are infected, entire nations are under lockdown and people are suffering. Every day we watch, hear and talk about these scary, heart breaking events.

Each and every one of these things is true, but you know what else is true... that there are many wonderful things that are happening each day as well.

Here's a list to remind you of all the good:

1. WFH means you have more time to spend with your family and loved ones.

There's an opportunity to really sit and talk, reconnect with your significant other, heal those differences.

2. This is the chance to teach your kids the games you played as a child, read them a bedtime story or help them with their lessons.

3. You have extra "Me" time to do all those things you didn't have time for earlier.

Did you get the extra hours of sleep, make an exercise routine, exercise, start that book you always wanted, binge watch a series, paint that picture or whip up that dish you always wanted to?

4. Without the daily grind, you have some time to learn a new skill, get certified or reboot your business

Have you signed up for that online course? Why not use this pause to plan your next move for your business to bounce back post Covid19?

5. It is the most beautiful spring weather moving on to summer days. There are birds chirping outside the window and you can hear them instead of car horns. The flowers are in full bloom and the skies are blue. Did you take some time to notice all that?

6. Across the world, mother Earth is healing. The air is getting cleaner, the waters are rejoicing. Did you express gratitude for it? Did you watch a sunrise or a sunset or just stare up at the stars and smile? Did you see the pink moon? It was beautiful.

On 14-16 April the planets mars Saturn Jupiter will line up with the moon and it will be a beautiful, rare sight to see. Did you read about this in the news? Are you going to try and spot them in the night sky?

7. The world is coming together to help each other. People are helping those less fortunate. Did you do your bit by helping out one of the many organisations that are active right now?

8. There was Navratri, Mahavir Jayanti, Gudi Padwa and Ugadi

Yesterday was Easter. Did you watch Andrea Bocelli sing in front of the empty Duomo in Milan in the greatest live concert ever ?

Today is Baisakhi, and then there will be Ambedkar Jayanti. Did you call up a family member or friend and give them best wishes on these festivals?

9. There are birthdays and anniversaries. Do you know someone who you need to call up and wish?

10. If you are reading this, remember that you are safe, in your home, with plenty to eat and people who care about you. Your loved ones are safe. You are alive. Are you grateful for all these things?

Celebrate these things!

Look around you and recognise how incredible this situation is.

At no other time, ever, has anyone gotten the opportunity to see what would happen if the world simply stopped. Here it is. We’re in it. And it will never happen again. Take a deep breath and see that you’re living through history.

This is a story you will tell future generations so be a hero. Stay at home, stop complaining, smile and do something, anything!!
